Welcome on the site of the Department of Constitutional Law
The Department employees constitute a leading research team conducting the analysis of constitutional law, including: principles of political system, structure of public authorities, parliamentary law, fundamental freedoms and rights, sources of law, legislation or principles of budgetary law. They are also involved in teaching of constitutional law. The Department employees and PhD candidates give classes as well as lead seminars and specialized lectures on constitutional justice, legislation or political system.
The Department is headed by prof. dr hab. Marek Zubik who currently serves as judge of the Constitutional Tribunal. Among the Department employees there are also prof. dr hab. Leszek Garlicki, former judge of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, retired judge of the Constitutional Tribunal and prof. dr hab. Janusz Trzciński, former president of the Supreme Administrative Court, retired vice-president of the Constitutional Tribunal.
Several Department employees work as experts at supreme public authorities.
